There are various stages in producing works for the public:

1. You have to have the ideas in the first place.
2. You have to brainstorm them and see where they can lead and how far they can go.
3. You have to develop them into a sound product.
4. You have to mass produce them.
5. You have to distribute them.
6. You have to market them.

The Martian Press is the vehicle that I have created to deal with the last 3 items on the list. These items do not require creative genius but they do require time, effort and expertise and without them the inspired work spent on the more charismatic first 3 items would simply be wasted as the fruit of one's genius lies unrecognised on one's computer, eventually to be lost forever as it goes into landfill after one's death.

Most of my works are fully realised in 2D sheet form on paper or computer screen and include such things as:

• Sheet music,
• Poetry,
• Photos,
• Paintings & Drawings,
• Books of instructions,
• etc

Because of the 2D nature of the product the required tool needed to propagate all this stuff is a PRINTING PRESS! Of course, thanks to the digital computer and it's child: the mobile phone, and the great distributor: the internet, the world has moved on a great deal since the time of Johannes Gutenberg. It is no longer so critical to actually have printed paper and bookshops but the analogy is still pertinent and from time to time the ink and paper product is still required.

Publishing houses don't just print, they also source material, arrange to have bookshops stock their products and market those products. In the case of The Martian Press, the printing, (when required), is contracted out and the source material is already there on my computer but the distribution and marketing must be organised in house. I try to keep this to a minimum but ultimately it is the only way to get paid for my endeavours and it is with The Martian Press that the buck stops being passed.

The Martian Press also handles the distribution of my recorded music at least while Martian Music is still up in the air in a legal wrangle.

From this web site you can buy my sheet music and buy or stream my recorded music. In the future I will add more products but we must walk before we can run.

I try to keep my works at a reasonable price as making money for its own sake has never been my objective. Please buy and enjoy them!
