Nanny Ogg's mythical "Hedgehog Song"!

I had been a fan of Terry Pratchett's Discworld series of books from the time I first dipped into "The Colour Of Magic" way back in the day. Certainly I read "Wyrd Sisters" early on and laughed at the reference to this, (at the time), non-existent song. Some years later I came across the huge quantity of fan generated verses to this mythical song and decided to see what I could do with them.

There are numerous version of the words, with numerous musical settings available in the web and you can check them out for yourself. This is my compilation version from 2002 with the words mainly sourced from Matthew Crosby, Heather Wood and Mark Mandel with some by myself as well. You can read my full version of the lyrics here which contains several more verses than are to be found in the recorded version.

I wrote the tune and arranged it for barbershop quartet in 2005. I recorded it with myself singing all the parts and playing guitar and banjo in January, 2006. It could be done more professionally and hopefully it will at some point in the future. For now though this is the only recording of this version of the song.

I have also written both words and music to Nanny Ogg's other famous song: "A Wizard's Staff Has A Knob On The End". This has not yet been recorded but some time in the future...
